BCS is the professional body for IT and communications with over 70,000 members worldwide in more than 100 countries. BCS is the qualifying body for Chartered IT Professionals CITP. BCS promotes IT to the wider public and is the central voice for a very diverse industry. Through its ‘Professionalism in IT’ initiative, BCS is leading and building IT professionalism to levels which are currently only seen in more traditional , long standing, professions such as accountancy and architecture but which will increasingly become the de facto standards for the IT professionals
