DLog extends web-based machine monitoring system

Thursday, 15 February 2007

DLoG (UK) Ltd has extended the capabilities of its web-based Net Report machine monitoring software with the introduction of a new library of reports

Enabling all data compiled by its shopfloor data collection system to be viewed and accessed through proprietary web-browsers, Net Report provides analysis of key manufacturing performance indicators. Information on machine status is sent in real time via a cabled or WLAN (wireless) network from data collection terminals, DLoG's industrial PCs or standard PCs. Net Report is then used across the company's intranet, allowing up-to-the-moment assessments of an organisation's manufacturing resources to be distributed on a worldwide basis, if required.

The comprehensive series of pre-formatted reports supplied with the software's latest release includes machine utilisation, overall equipment efficiency (OEE), trend analysis, downtime and comparisons by machine, shift or other standard period. Five types of report are included: pie, bar, line, text and pareto.

Evaluation parameters can be defined to meet individual user requirements, with machines selected singly, by group or in designated manufacturing cells. In addition, time periods can be specified, along with the downtime functions to be analysed, and the required report format. Likewise, users can select which shifts are to be monitored and whether reports are to be displayed daily, weekly or monthly.

Through the use of industry-standard Crystal Reports, DLoG's Net Report enables data to be accessed, formatted and distributed in the user's required format simply and effectively - giving fast and accurate visibility of potential manufacturing bottle-necks or other shopfloor problems. Results can also be forwarded to Microsoft Excel or other standard graphics processing application or written directly to an external database.

To help customers specify the most appropriate data collection system for their business, DLoG has also introduced a booklet for use in its pre-sales process. Machine monitoring - report library illustrates the broad range of reports available to users of the company's data collection and machine monitoring systems - before they actually purchase one.

Report formats cover the full spectrum of production management data, including the location of each machine in the factory together with its name, real-time status and productivity comparisons. In addition, users can drill down to view machine status per shift/day/week/month and the reasons for downtime during a given period.

The new booklet equips DLoG with a simple yet effective tool to support its customers in determining the most cost-effective solution for their manufacturing operations.
