Rotherham business software specialist, IMS, is making it easier for clients who are part of major supply chains to manage shared electronic data.
Users of IMS' flagship programme, Uniplan, can now access data produced in any electronic format, thanks to advances the firm has made to the software.
IMS is using a managed service to simplify electronic communication, converting data into a readable format from any software. This allows Uniplan users to connect to their trading partners' IT systems and accept incoming sales orders and issue invoices, purchases and dispatches.
Steven Kay, IMS' managing director, said: "Like it or not, EDI is here to stay. We felt it was essential that our users could participate in this type of business to business communication, so we have added functionality to Uniplan that has allowed us to make this process industrial strength."
Uniplan users can now manage incoming data more easily, before progressing it into the core application, whilst IMS has also developed data files that can be transformed into any outgoing messaging format.
Steven added: "An increasing number of large companies will only consider EDI as a means of communication and we want to ensure our clients have a competitive edge by being able to integrate seamlessly into these systems."
