Integrity Software alerts the Construction Industry

Thursday, 27 November 2008

In the current economic climate, micro-managing all aspects of a contractor's finances is key to maintaining a healthy balance sheet. However, things can get overlooked and such oversights can prove very costly. Recognising this, Integrity Software has launched BusinessMonitor as a must-have addition to its Evolution package.

This is a software tool enabling financial decision makers to trace every element of their organisation's accounting, with an in-built alerts system to ensure mistakes simply do not happen. An essential addition to Evolution for business owners, directors and managers of large teams, BusinessMonitor enables business decision makers to set up project relevant alerts for a range of standard scenarios. In addition, Integrity Software can custom-write a variety of additional reminders to meet the specific needs of a customer.

As a flexible business partner, Integrity Software can install and pre-set Business Monitor to deliver alerts to the user in any number of ways. From a simple email message or pop-up window on a pre-assigned day or hour, Business Monitor is a tool that can be moulded to a contractor's business needs and ways of working.

BusinessMonitor can be programmed according to the individual's need to signal impending deadlines, such as outstanding retentions or where CIS returns are due. This element alone is a current point of interest for the contractors recently affected by the estimated £180m in late return penalties due from the 1.7 million fines issued by HMRC in the last year. Additionally, it can also be set up to alert the user that a contract has reached or dropped below a pre-assigned level of funds, or that a particular cost head has gone over budget.

Ensuring that subcontractors are paid on time is a crucial part of maintaining momentum on any job. By linking project information to the alerts system, users can be secure in the knowledge that the programme will let them know when a deadline is due, guaranteeing that payments are made on time, and so avoiding any confusion or costly penalties.

In addition, alerts can be set up to show when a project balance is nearing its budget or funding limit. This type of alert can also be pre-programmed to show when profit margins fall below a certain percentage, allowing decision makers the opportunity to take relevant action on the contract.

When missed, delivery deadlines can incur hefty penalties for contractors and their sub-contractors. BusinessMonitor's alerts system allows users to keep an eye on upcoming appointments and delivery deadlines to ensure that these are met. This alert allows the user to input ‘free text' on an appointment or delivery reminder that will show at a set time and date, providing as much information to the recipient as possible.

Designed to provide business owners, directors and managers, in fact anyone responsible for financial decision-making in contracting and sub-contracting companies, with a variety of information at the touch of a button, BusinessMonitor is a cash-saving tool.

Justin Moule, Business Development Director of Integrity Software explains: "By providing contractors' key decision makers with an alerts system that can be constantly updated, it is possible for them to monitor company developments as they happen, allowing a proactive course of action rather than - reactive once a deadline or appointment has been missed. By using this method, a company can save both money and time as a result."
