Daimler FleetBoard selects Intermec CN3e handheld computers
Intermec has announced that Daimler FleetBoard GmbH, provider of telematics-based Internet services for vehicle and logistics management, has selected the Intermec CN3e rugged mobile computer for its new DispoPilot solution.
FleetBoard uses the CN3e mobile computer to support the logistics management processes of transport companies. Once an order has been transmitted to the truck driver's cab, the DispoPilot can incorporate the pickup or delivery address directly into the navigation system. Beyond the mobile communication capabilities, the device is also utilized for freight tracking and can be used upon delivery for on-site scanning and acknowledgement of receipt of goods.
"The technical capabilities of the CN3e mobile computer from Intermec absolutely convinced us," said Dr. Ralf Forcher, Managing Director of Daimler FleetBoard GmbH. "This device has enabled us to offer our customers a reliable, portable solution."
Daimler FleetBoard was looking for a robust device capable of meeting its high quality standards while making it easy to migrate existing applications. The excellent interoperability of the CN3e with the CoPilot navigation software from ALK Technologies were determining factors in the decision.
"FleetBoard vehicle management services offer a high quality solution for reducing road haulage operating costs," said Patrick J. Byrne, President & CEO of Intermec. "We're pleased that the CN3e will be a vital asset in support of FleetBoard vehicle and logistics management services."
