Desktop Engineering announces UK availability of new Gehry Technologies Digital Project Software

UK Architects, Engineers and Construction Industry can now benefit from the availability of a new version of the building design and development software system that has found favour with the world's leading architects and building development organisations including Zaha Hadid, Herzog and de Meuron, SOM, ARUP and Aedas.

Digital Project (DP) R4 offers the benefits that derive from combining the power of large-scale 3D parametric CAD with Building Information Modeling (BIM). The software is available in the UK with full installation, training and support services from Oxford based, Desktop Engineering.

New DP features include; significantly enhanced drawing generation capabilities, the full release of architecture and structures functionality, enhanced IFC interoperability and the addition of rendering in the system's Designer configuration - (at no extra cost.) More than 200 user requests have also been added into DP R4.

Geoff Haines MD of Desktop Engineering said: "This new software release gives the AEC industry higher levels of productivity by incorporating the most advanced design-to-build methodology yet devised.  DP is based on the same software used by Boeing, Toyota, and thousands of other companies to generate innovation, quality and business benefits through the application of 3D digital model based PLM technology."

Digital project is currently being used to facilitate the on-time to-budget delivery of some the world's most exciting structures including, The Aquatics Centre for the 2012 London Olympics, The Abu Dhabi investment Council, The Gazprom Tower and the spectacular ArupSport, Shakhtar Stadium in Ukraine.

Patrik Schumacher, Zaha Hadid Partner said: "DP ensures that however much a design evolves we never lose sight of our original ideas, and that however extraordinary the result we know it can be seen through to construction."

Geoff Haines concluded: "DP R4 automates much of the design process while allowing users to develop structures in the most efficient way possible. It also optimises fabrication and build processes using accessible 3D models for concurrent collaboration throughout the project community."
