Norwegian Felleskjøpet Rogaland Agder (FKRA), a user of IFS Applications for retail and wholesale since 2000, has decided to expand the solution with IFS Trade Management and to upgrade to IFS Applications 7.5. FKRA thereby gets a new, modern purchasing and retail system that will contribute to the renewal of the value chain, from production and purchasing to workshops and stores. The contract, signed at the end of June, has a total value of NKr 11.3 million.
FKRA's vision is to be Scandinavia's most attractive and dynamic co-operative. The purpose is to contribute to increased profitability for the farmer. Felleskjøpet Rogaland Agder produces and sells animal feed, fertiliser, and seed. The organisation also supplies tractors, machinery, and maintenance and repair services to both agricultural and other customers, as well as operating a chain of 18 stores.
After the upgrade, FKRA will use IFS Applications components for retail and wholesale (Trade Management), manufacturing, service, finance, and sales support (CRM). The solution includes efficient store management with advanced demand planning and automatic replenishment of store/workshop. The solution also has the flexibility required to let FKRA adapt to changing market demands and new business opportunities.
“IFS has been involved in the development of our business for a long time and the decision to further develop our business with IFS Applications is based on our expected increased profitability,” says Ola Bekken, CEO of FKRA. “Following our decision not to merge with the other Norwegian co-operatives, we need to streamline our own operations and must, among other things, establish a new procurement system. With IFS Applications, we get the necessary flexibility to exploit such opportunities quickly and effectively.”
“In recent years, we have invested heavily in developing the most modern solution on the market for trade and logistics-intensive businesses. The solution is the result of our co-operation with major Scandinavian trade customers such as FKRA, Jensen & Co, Systembolaget, Stadium, and Byggmax,” says Glenn Arnesen, Managing Director of IFS Scandinavia. “Our industry team for Retail and Wholesale focuses on giving our customers an efficient, future-orientated solution with high usability and rapid ROI.”
