Datawright reaches new heights

Wednesday, 28 April 2010

North East software specialists Datawright are aiming to further increase their global footprint by expanding their software sales into Asia.

The Wearside Company already operates on a world wide scale with client sites in North America and Europe as well as Dubai, Sharjah and Kuwait and now see’s Malaysia as its next target.

Datawright’s in-house authored Kingfisher ERP software has been used by organisations in various forms since 1979, across many sectors including oil and gas, field services, chemical and engineering. The Kingfisher software offers an end to end solution for businesses, encompassing Finance, Stock, Manufacturing, HR etc.

Datawright staff spent last week in Kuala Lumpur demonstrating their software to Malaysian manufacturers and discussing the latest functionality from their new release. The same team also visited Dubai last month to showcase this latest release to their Dubai-based petroleum customers.

Head of Sales and Marketing Mr Ian Farrar said: “After the Journal teamed up with the North East Chamber of Commerce (NECC) to launch the Go Global campaign we reviewed our Sales plan for 2010. We decided with this backing and also assistance from the UKTI we could increase efforts on our export strategy.”

Mr John Doolan, International Trade Adviser for the UK Trade & Investment comments “I have met with Ian and his team over this last six months to put together a work plan for our passport to export programme. With Datawright already having successful export experience we can certainly build upon this to further maximise their proven potential in global markets.”

Ian concludes: “We have great skills and a can do attitude in this region and with our North East support network I encourage firms to look at export markets as a route towards recovery.”

Datawright’s workforce currently stands at around 20 staff which they foresee to rise this year with the launch of their latest software system SNAP 2.0 which was developed for Britain’s largest residential landlord, Newcastle based Grainger Plc. SNAP 2.0 is a leading edge invoice management solution designed to create dramatic improvements in the collation, routing, management, authorisation and payment of purchase invoices.
