Cunninghams continue to serve high quality EPoS solutions
The owners of West Midlands based Suki’s Bar and Indian Restaurant, have further cemented their long standing relationships with EPoS provider Cunninghams and TOSHIBA TEC with the implementation of a state of the art EPoS system.
Suki’s, which caters for up to 90 seats and is licensed for up to 140 people, was started by siblings Bharat and Hema Patel in 2007 and is the sister restaurant to The Vine based in West Bromwich, established by their father, Suresh Patel, in the late 70s.
When it came to selecting an EPoS supplier for Suki’s, the decision was simple. “We were having reliability issues with the original tills at The Vine; since the restaurant is near West Bromwich Football Club, we were serving up to 1,000+ people at peak periods on match days, so speed of service and reliability of equipment was vital,” said Bharat Patel. “Cunninghams recommended TOSHIBA hardware to resolve the problem. The Vine has been using this solution for nearly ten years and the team continues to be impressed with its robust performance; so using the same solution was a natural choice for Suki’s.”
Cunninghams worked closely with Suki’s to provide a tailored PoS solution. The stylish aesthetics of TOSHIBA’s ST-A10 touch screens and intuitive layouts make it easy for staff to use and are a perfect fit for the restaurants contemporary feel. The small footprint meant Suki’s could maximum use of the counter space, allowing two tills to be situated back to back on the bar counter. This positioning enabled the restaurant to speed up their service with one member of staff serving behind the bar, freeing up other staff to enter orders on the bar till facing the restaurant area. The robust spill-proof design makes the ST-A10s very easy to clean and ideal for busy pub and restaurant environments.
The TOSHIBA PoS system has provided a range of other benefits to the restaurant, including full stock control, resulting in greater reliability, accuracy and operational efficiencies.
A comprehensive suite of management reports provides detailed sales analysis and trends, enabling Suki’s to monitor popular and slow selling items, average takings and number of people served. This vital information has assisted the business with menu planning and importantly enabled Suki’s to reduce wastage.
”The reporting option has proved an invaluable tool; we use the information to help plan special menus and tailor special offers in both Suki’s Restaurant and The Vine,” commented Bharat Patel. “All discounts are automatically calculated on the PoS, making it quicker for staff to process the transaction and avoid mistakes,” he added.
Rich in functionality, the software includes a table planning option which gives staff instant visibility of what stage of the meal a customer is at, allowing staff to manage covers efficiently and improve customer service. There is also the potential to add software for nutritional analysis, if required. The PoS system allows the management team to monitor staff performance - an essential for staff planning in busy periods - and changes can be made in real-time using the back-office facility.
Enhanced with the latest technology, the PoS system is also future-proofed to allow for new demands of the business. For example, the tills can be linked to CCTV to ensure that all transactions are monitored remotely. The system also has the capability to link to the internet with an online ordering facility.
“The TOSHIBA PoS system provided by Cunninghams has proved a powerful tool in helping us to manage and improve business efficiencies. It has also helped to improve customer service, with the flexibility to meet our future needs,” said Bharat Patel. “Our relationship with Cunninghams is due to the excellent personal service they provide. The support team is available 363 days of the year and they have always been extremely responsive to our needs. I would be more than happy to recommend them in conjunction with TOSHIBA TEC,” he concluded.
