Mayrise launches new MapNow mapping software
Mayrise Systems has announced the latest version of its mapping software MapNow. The integrated mapping solution adds an important capability to service management software, enabling users to instantly locate assets and view detailed service information on Ordnance Survey maps or aerial photographs. The latest release offers an improved, more intuitive user interface, configurable views and advanced visualisation options for the co-ordination of street works.
MapNow is already used widely by local authorities and their contractors in areas such as highways, street lighting and waste management and it is hoped the latest release will build on this existing success. A new look set of on screen navigation tools offers easy mouse navigation and layer configurable ‘flyover’ hints. The upgraded software also offers interruptible map drawing to allow navigation while the map window is redrawing and user configurable views for specific tasks.
In addition to the advances in the look and usability of the software the upgraded MapNow offers advanced visual representation of ASD records (Associated Street Data; which forms part of the National Street Gazetteer (NSG) and contains a wealth of additional information relating to streets and highways). This includes, for example, traffic sensitivity, height, width and weight restrictions, protected streets, strategic routes, reinstatement designations and principal noticing authority boundaries.
“The new functionality included in the latest release of MapNow has been developed in response to user requirements and a range of new government legislation covering issues such as street works coordination, permit schemes and internal noticing,” commented Mark Clarke, Managing Director of Mayrise Systems. “It is important that the solutions we offer reflect the changing needs of our user community.”
