Promap is first online web portal to offer UKMap
The GeoInformation Group is pleased to announce that its large scale mapping product, UKMap, is available online through the UK’s leading web map portal, Promap.
Previously only available via offline channels the entire UKMap product suite, currently available for Greater London, is now accessible through Promap’s website offering customers an online alternative to OSMasterMap.
Through Promap users are able to browse UKMap for free and select their own sites containing a wealth of information including land use, building heights, points of interest and addresses. Users are able to print or download data direct from the Promap website.
UKMap’s generous derived data and archive rights enable large scale mapping users for the first time to easily create their own data and store it without additional licence costs or management overheads.
David Dixon, Managing Director at Landmark Property, comments: “For the next five years our exclusive access to the UKMap topographic layer will enable us to offer an enhanced service for users to view, print, and export user-specified sites from UKMap ensuring Landmark is the only company able to offer this greater choice in one straightforward service.”
Dr Alun Jones, Managing Director of The GeoInformation Group, adds: “We offer accurate topographical mapping and our simple licensing approach covers derived data and dating sharing. We believe we represent a good value alternative to Ordnance Survey and look forward to working with Promap to deliver increased choice to its customers.”
