Somethin Else to implement SAP Business One from Sapphire
Sapphire Systems has announced that it is to implement and support SAP Business One at Somethin Else.
Somethin Else is a leading digital content company creating interactive, video, radio and branded content as well as games. The UK’s largest independent radio production company, Somethin Else has 70 employees and has been operating for nearly 20 years.
Stuart Smith, Finance Director, and the management team at Somethin Else had a requirement for a replacement accounting system; the entry level system they had in use was no longer adequate and, said Stuart, there was: " a need to support the business in a better way through better reporting and procedures.”
A review of suitable solutions was begun two years ago: “Price, adaptability and the ability to fit the system into the business without trouble made SAP Business One the best fit for our requirements” said Stuart, “it is a good product for our market and size of business.” Stuart’s knowledge of SAP as a business and their support and investment in the solution also played a part in the decision.
SAP Business One, designed exclusively to meet the needs of growing and mid-size businesses, is an integrated, affordable business management application. It's a single system that can automate critical business operations, including finance, sales, purchasing, inventory, and manufacturing. And it provides accurate, up-to-the-minute views of business data. SAP Business One is easy to buy, quick to install, and easy to use.
Stuart chose Sapphire to support and implement SAP Business One at Somethin Else due to a good existing relationship: “I have worked with Sapphire before in previous roles at Launch Media and World Television, so I have known the team there for a while and have watched the company grow over the years” he explained, going on to state: “It is reassuring to know that they do a good job and we will have a smooth implementation and good support with Sapphire.”
The main benefit Stuart is looking forward to following the implementation of SAP Business One is enhanced reporting and specifically better analysis of profitability, which will help make the operation at Somethin Else more efficient. The finance team will be able to communicate financial results quickly and accurately.
Although the main driver for implementing SAP Business One was the need for a replacement financial accounting solution, the team at Somethin Else will also be utilising other functionality within the solution. “One of the advantages of SAP Business One is the CRM [Customer Relationship Management] side – it’s an added benefit we will bring in to play.”
Ian Caswell, Managing Director at Sapphire, concluded: “It’s great to be working with Stuart again and we look forward to getting to know the rest of the team at Somethin Else. Although SAP Business One is a complete business management solution, it is not uncommon for a company to use only the financial module as the reporting available in the solution is fantastic. As other modules are required – such as CRM or HR – they can be put into action quickly and easily.”
