Dunbia beefs up protection of production systems with Marathon Technologies and 24/7 Uptime
24/7 Uptime is supplying meat processing company Dunbia with high availability software to protect factory production lines.
Dunbia is a leading supplier of fresh meat products to many of the UK’s largest retail supermarkets and operates in a fast moving, high pressure retail supply chain environment. The company has selected Marathon everRun high availability software to ensure its production systems continue to run, regardless of any IT hardware failure.
Chris Robinson, Technical Director of 24/7Uptime confirms: “For any firm involved in manufacturing and processing, ensuring continual operation of production systems is absolutely critical, especially where these are technology driven and controlled. Any downtime has immediate impact on productivity and profitability as well as serious knock-on effects in terms of customer service levels and potential damaged reputation.”
He continues: “Marathon everRun software protects Windows applications from downtime in the event of server failure. The systems run on two separate servers but the resources are pooled so, if one server has a problem, the other one takes over. This means zero downtime and no interruption to the IT service. The IT administrator can repair the failed server, safe in the knowledge that the business will continue to function unaffected. The software works on standard hardware and is an extremely cost effective solution that protects all business critical applications.”
Jay Adams, IT Service Delivery Manager for Dunbia, commented: “Marathon promises 99.999% reliability of our key production systems. We have used Marathon in one form or another since 2001 and firmly believe it is the best to deliver maximum availability for our business critical applications. Marathon software works seamlessly with our factory floor management, stock and order processing systems. We are now working with 24/7 Uptime to implement Marathon everRun across our business.”
