Derbyshire Probation invests in web-based HR and payroll
Derbyshire Probation Trust has signed a five-year contract with NorthgateArinso. The HR supplier will deliver a web-based HR and payroll service using its ResourceLink Aurora solution.
The Probation Service is going through a period of fundamental transformation in the way it provides services, prompted by the need for efficiency savings across the public sector. This transformation is particularly relevant to back office functions, which are increasingly partnering with external service providers in order to better focus on core goals.
Derbyshire Probation Trust was looking for a solution that would support its goals of reducing re-offending and protecting the public from serious or prolific offenders. ResourceLink Aurora will enable the trust to reduce the resources required for routine administration, through the use of workflow and improved processes. These processes will give the HR team the information they need at their fingertips and free up staff time to concentrate on improving the quality and efficiency of the HR service.
Gary Radford, Finance Manager at Derbyshire Probation Trust said: “We needed a solution which was both flexible and accurate, and would enable us to plan our workforce resources more effectively. We wanted to develop a partnership with a supplier that we could trust.
“NorthgateArinso had some sound experience with other probation trusts. The team has proved that they are prepared to listen to us and work with us to achieve our vision.
“We were looking for a tried and tested web-based solution from a supplier with a proven track record of working within Criminal Justice. NorthgateArinso demonstrated that other Probation Trusts and Police forces had confidence in them as a supplier, which made our decision easier.
“ResourceLink Aurora will offer us an integrated solution, which will reduce the duplication of data and improve processes. It will also provide a capability to deploy specific responsibilities to line managers and staff using intranet and browser technology, for example Online Pay slips, Personal Details and Performance Management.”
Dave Proctor, Public Sector Business Development Director at NorthgateArinso commented: “Derbyshire Probation Trust is looking to embrace the capabilities in ResourceLink Aurora - providing access to managers and employees whenever and wherever they need it.
“There’s a lot of pressure on the public sector at the moment to create efficiency gains. By taking away the pain around HR and payroll with ResourceLink Aurora, the HR team is able to focus on helping to create a department that runs as efficiently as possible.”
