"Live" online marketplace launches for skip suppliers
'Bidding' to win business set to change waste industry
A first of its kind 'live' online marketplace allowing permitted skip suppliers to 'bid' to win business is launching next month, giving skip hire companies free unlimited access to millions of potential customers providing them with a new channel to help streamline their sales and marketing.
SkipTrips aims to be a market leader for the waste industry in the UK by driving business for skip companies and connecting them with customers who have a defined need for waste management. It is a safe and reliable platform allowing waste managers and customers to interact and negotiate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Skip companies can register for free and create a full business profile on www.skiptrips.com, differentiating themselves from competitors, listing environmental credentials, license details, location, size, special services and user feedback to help win over potential customers and allow them to make an informed decision about whom to work with.
SkipTrips users, made up of both domestic and large-scale customers, list their skip-hire requirements on the site and registered skip companies in the area are notified immediately. Customers detail requirements such as skip size and numbers, types of waste, dates and location and waste managers then submit live quotes online. The customer can view a detailed business profile alongside the quote and simply pick the deal that suits them best, whatever their needs or priorities.
There’s no obligation to quote at all and levels of bid activity can be increased or reduced, allowing skip businesses to maximise the use of assets by pricing according to their capacity at that time or the attractiveness of the job so they can be more flexible to adapt to market conditions.
After completion of a job users give rated feedback, allowing waste management companies to build on their online reputation and encourage more customers to use them in the future.
SkipTrips Managing Director Edward Fanshawe said: “SkipTrips was launched after months of collaboration with waste managers and construction companies. Simply put, there was no easy way to connect waste managers with customers and visa versa. Waste managers found it hard to get in front of customers when they needed to and skip users have no easy way of making an informed decision about their choice of waste manager.
“There are over 30 million people online every day in the UK and yet the only way to find a skip is to work through a phone book, calling skip companies to compare prices, quality, credentials and services.
“I found that waste managers often make significant investments in their operations yet they have no way to differentiate themselves with potential customers. They have little visibility over future business and spend valuable resources advertising to everyone whether they need a skip or not.
“SkipTrips connects skip companies with customers, alerting them immediately to a potential job in their area and allowing them to bid for it. From a large construction company requiring hundreds of skips with multiple waste streams, to a single household wanting a skip to clear out a garage, SkipTrips covers the lot.”
SkipTrips.com is set to launch as a live online marketplace this summer. Skip companies can register their interest now at www.skiptrips.com
