Document Management Software delivers major time savings for Morrisroe
Award-winning construction company Morrisroe has introduced major efficiency improvements by integrating Causeway's Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system with its Plant Accounting solution. As a result the company has virtually eliminated manual processing of invoices and enabled instant visibility of costs for remote site-based users as well as office-based staff.
Morrisroe is one of the UK's top 10 groundworks and reinforced concrete frame contractors and was winner in the Concrete category of the Construction News Specialists Awards 2011. The company is well known for its professional delivery and customer service, having introduced a number of initiatives to improve efficiency and productivity.
One such initiative has been the recent implementation of Causeway ECM workflow and document management modules and then integrating the technology with their core financial application - Causeway Plant Accounting. Now, rather than manually receiving, distributing and storing paper invoices, Morrisroe is able to scan invoices directly into their document management solution.
They can then be viewed remotely via a web browser or directly through Plant Accounting screens, so that users can view and approve invoices from any location.
Morrisroe Financial Controller Prem Nair commented: "The retrieval of invoices, previously a time consuming operation, has become a straightforward exercise enabling accounts staff to free up time for less mundane tasks. Through the Plant Accounting software, we are now able to pull up any invoice hitting our costs almost instantly. We look forward to using the Causeway ECM suite to its full potential in the coming months."
In addition to processing sales invoices, this integration enables key documents and reports produced by the Plant Accounting system to be automatically converted and added to Causeway ECM. These include invoice and application for payment summaries, variation schedules and payment certificates.
These documents are not only stored and categorised immediately; they are also readily available for review and evaluation by any member of staff - even those that don't normally access the Plant Accounting solution. As a result, more contract performance information is readily available to enable more effective contract management.
