PPM powers up business integration and customer service with SYSPRO
Swindon electronics and power products firm Pulse Power & Measurement (PPM) has selected a fully integrated SYSPRO manufacturing and distribution system from Manchester-based K3 Business Technology Group (K3). The new SYSPRO solution will replace a number of disparate systems, bringing seamless information management across its design and manufacturing and distribution businesses. PPM hopes with better visibility across both divisions, the system will improve customer focus and customer service.
PPM has selected a comprehensive suite of modules for its system to include Accounts, Sales and Purchasing and Manufacturing. K3 will also install a Microsoft Dynamics CRM system as part of the integrated solution. The system will eliminate duplicated data entry and paperwork, while reducing order processing time. “We recognised that we needed to replace our existing systems with a single, integrated solution. With SYSPRO we will have fast access to important information across both sides of our business and this will also benefit our customers through our improved focus and service,” says Neil Seager PPM Managing Director.
With a grant from the Southwest Manufacturing Advisory Service, PPM was able to engage the independent consultancy service FreeConsult to help with researching and selecting an appropriate solution. “John Haslam of FreeConsult spent a week with us, getting to know how we worked and what we needed to achieve. Armed with this knowledge he was able to draw up a specification for the system. This was put out to tender, with K3 being one of four suppliers. We settled on SYSPRO as it is clearly designed for design and manufacturing companies and it provides more features and functionality off-the-shelf than the competitors,” says Neil Seager.
Delegates from PPM were able to visit K3 customer Godwin Pumps in Cirencester to see SYSPRO in action as well as speak to management at Dudson Group to find out how the system is used in the manufacture of ceramic tableware across its global sites. “The opportunity to speak to existing users was invaluable. We learned a lot and the advice we received helped with steering the design of our own SYSPRO system. We are now looking forward to implementing the software and gaining the benefits we expect from our investment,” ends Neil Seager.
