Sypro upgrades dashboard view to deliver greater NEC construction contract control

Monday, 1 August 2011

UK construction contract management software specialist Sypro Management has released a new version of its web-based platform for managing NEC3 processes. The key development has been a dashboard view that gives users an “at a glance” view of all the key metrics relating to their work on a project.

The East Yorkshire based company researched the needs of existing project teams, including NEC users working on the £842m Southern General Hospital project in Glasgow, ProCure21 users on hospital schemes in Newham, Stevenage and Cornwall, and participants in Yorkshire working on YORbuild framework projects. The previous interface was popular, but several enhancements were identified, including:

-  consolidation of key data into a single view

-  project ‘fuel gauges’ to give real-time cost and time status

-  at-a-glance view of user specific actions

-  green-amber-red pie-chart reports for key NEC processes like Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events.

The result, says Sypro MD Simon Hunt, delivers key information more quickly to the end user: “By accessing our secure web-based Software-as-a-Service system, Sypro users can access the most up-to-date contract data from any internet-connected computer at anytime – it looks great on the latest tablet devices too.

“Once logged into the system, users have an at-a-glance overview of all the key metrics. Instead of something resembling a spreadsheet, the Sypro interface uses colour and bold graphics to convey time and cost data quickly. Users can quickly see what items need their most urgent attention, and can then drill down to the relevant workflows.”

The Sypro NEC system is also highly configurable, says Hunt, being able to support all versions of the NEC3 suite, including the Procure21+ contract, to ensure adherence to all periods for reply and other contractual processes.
