Advanced Roofing set for efficiency gains through Workspace mini
Advanced Roofing is a building envelope sub-contractor, traditionally specialising in flat roofing. After 21 years of steady growth, in 2008, despite the recession, Advanced Roofing saw a significant increase in both profit and turnover. This growth has lead to an increase in both site and office based staff.
In order to make the growth sustainable Managing Director, Richard Clapp is keen to ensure the internal environment is geared up to deliver an efficient and effective service: "Our current systems are OK, but we want to be more than just ok. We want to be more professional and able to respond more efficiently to our customer's requests. Basically we need something that makes life easier and Workspace mini fits the bill" says Mr Clapp.
Workspace mini is a leading knowledge management software for small to medium businesses in the construction industry supply chain. It stores project information in one central repository against projects, organisations and contacts. Workspace mini will allow Advanced Roofing to share information in a simple and organised way, across the business.
"I initially started looking into simple document archiving solutions as a way of organising our information. However when I stumbled across Workspace mini I realised the benefits of going a step further" explains Mr Clapp. "It wasn't much more in terms of cost to go for a fully integrated document management system, over some of the more basic archiving solutions I was initially looking at."
Workspace mini will be rolling out to all Advanced Roofing staff in early October. "We're going for a slightly phased approach to implementation, getting everyone used to the basic functionality before we introduce things like supply chain management" says Mr Clapp. "Staff are keen to get up and running and realise the benefits of the new system."
