Storey Homes set for growth with COINS
Milton Keynes based developer Storey Homes have recently implemented COINS in preparation for their anticipated growth. Bucking the trend, this year, Storey Homes has launched 100 properties with a gross development value of £20million, a further approximately 1400 units are currently within the planning process.
It took only 3 months to move from the decision making stage to implementation. The project started in December 2010 and Storey Homes went live on COINS at the end of March 2011. The speed and success of the implementation has been attributed to the commitment of the Storey Homes staff and the decision to implement COINS First Base. First Base is an ‘out of the box’ COINS solution that helps reduce implementation time and cost making it particularly suitable for smaller housebuilders.
Gareth Jacob, Head of Sales and Marketing at Storey Homes comments: “The integration of First Base has certainly enabled us to start putting in place more processes that will definitely help in the growth of Storey Homes going forward. It also means that as we grow we now have the systems in place to support this and we will not need to increase the head count incrementally to achieve this therefore reducing our operating costs.”
Commercial Manager, Darren Brockwell goes on to add: “The good news is that it hasn’t taken as long as predicted to get up and running. All of our accounts have been transferred, orders are being placed, material and sub-contractor payments are being processed and we are appraising new opportunities with land appraisal. We are already producing much better detailed and timely reports than we could previously, which enables us to make better, more informed decisions.”
Storey Homes has come a long way since its inception just over 18 months ago and with this they are developing all parts of the business, most importantly, the sales process. In light of the vast number of properties they have in the pipeline, choosing COINS was considered to be the next step for the business in preparation for their growth. Gareth Jacob comments: “We are already capturing far more information from site on our prospects database and using the tasks/follow up system to track clients. The monitoring of site sales progress and reporting on site activity has dramatically improved and will enable us to maximize our sales opportunities.”
