SmartMenu gives instant table ordering at a touch
X2 Computing, a leading supplier of mobile computing solutions to the retail and hospitality markets, has announced the immediate availability of SmartMenu, a new ‘at-the-table’ ordering solution. It has been designed to meet the needs of family dining and other quick service hospitality environments including hotel room service and, according to current trials of wireless ordering solutions, will enable the delivery of faster service and an increase in food and beverage revenues of up to 63%.
X2’s SmartMenu has a similar look and feel to a normal menu and can detail all available food and beverage items using multiple pages, each of which can be designed to meet the house style. Diners can place orders directly from the table when they want to without having to wait to be served by a member of staff. This self-serve solution uses a wireless network to send orders straight from the table to the kitchen or bar for rapid fulfillment. Menus can be quickly changed as required and SmartMenu can also integrate with existing POS terminals to streamline the billing process.
According to Mark Tutton, X2’s Hospitality Development Manager: “SmartMenu has been developed in response to requests from our clients for solutions that deliver higher revenues, faster service and enhanced customer delight ratings at an affordable price without having to change their business model. This latest addition to our portfolio of ‘at-the-table’ solutions addresses all these business requirements, enhances the whole family dining experience and, with each menu costing just a few pence each per day, gives an immediate return on investment.”
SmartMenu enhances the ambiance of any restaurant, enabling waiting staff to ‘cover’ more tables and give them more time to spend interacting with customers to deliver a memorable dining experience that they will want to repeat. It is extremely cost effective as well as being simple to use, easy to install and straightforward to manage. X2 can also provide a fully managed service taking responsibility for the whole process of installation, training and support including all menu updates and changes.
