C&A to introduce Torex POS solution in 1,500 stores across Europe
Torex, the leading global provider of innovative technology to the retail, hospitality and convenience and fuel markets, ha announced that retailer C&A will install Torex POS in over 1,500 stores across 19 European countries. The solution will provide the retailer with a modern IT platform to enable central control and management of pricing, products, promotions and inventory. The internationally compatible POS ensures that the financial requirements of all the stores in different countries are met seamlessly.
C&A, which is headquartered in Düsseldorf and Brussels, has chosen to implement the modular solution due to the flexibility it provides to its stores in different countries. The technology also allows for the configuration of VAT and exchange rates reducing operating costs and improving customer service. Additionally, it supports all currencies and languages, as well as tax and fiscal provisions.
Implementation in stores is scheduled to start in August 2012. All European C&A shops will be equipped with the new system by the end of 2014. The project marks the beginning of a long-term partnership between Torex and C&A that is intended to last at least ten years.
Martin Timmann, Managing Director and Vice President, Central Europe at Torex comments: “Consumers have high expectations of retailers nowadays. This means retailers need technology that helps develop the business to remain competitive. Torex has extensive know-how of the fashion industry which will help to provide C&A with a solution that is perfectly tailored to their specific business processes. We are delighted to be working with C&A to implement a solution that will take its customer offerings to the next level.”
“C&A required a solution designed for international application. Torex POS supports many of the currencies, languages, as well as tax and fiscal provisions relevant for us in the standard version”, says the project manager of RSC Commercial Services OHG, C&A’s IT subsidiary. “What also made the solution attractive to us is its ability to centrally control the local stores. In the future we will be able to configure VAT and exchange rates, role permissions, print parameters etc. or upload updates without the need for a separate software distribution tool. Instead, all actions can be performed directly from the central Torex solution without having to install software updates in the stores. We expect this to result in substantially reduced operating costs.”
