Grimshaw, the award winning architectural practice responsible for projects such as the Eden Project, Waterloo International Terminal and the RAC Headquarters, has selected Knowledge Management specialists Union Square Software to provide a company-wide solution to the practice's data and knowledge management requirements.
The next few months will be spent in preparing and planning the rollout of Union Square Software's Workspace Enterprise Portal across the activities of the London office leading eventually to deployment of the system in New York, Melbourne and other overseas project offices.
Robin Williamson, Business Systems Manager at Grimshaw, said: "We identified a need to integrate the information requirements of every aspect of the practice's operations and deliver it through one browser-based interface. Union Square's Workspace will allow us to integrate these information sources with our Intranet and document management requirements. The new system will be the heart of all our project-based activity and we believe this will deliver significant efficiency gains for current projects."
Will Yandell, Project Director at Union Square said: "We are very proud to have been selected by Grimshaw. We have been working hard to establish Workspace as the leading practice management system for architectural practices and this new relationship underlines our credentials in this respect."
