Staffordshire County Council spends £30 million a year maintaining and improving the County's vital highways network.
In April they signed up their two new highways maintenance and construction framework contractors, Accord and Wrekin, to create a seamless working arrangement heralding a new age in quality and efficiency, operating under the banner of Staffordshire Highways.
They have implemented a regional licence of Crest Software's planning tool, CS Project Lite for term maintenance and construction contracts. The first training program has just been implemented with over 100 users completing the course.
Malcolm Harratt, Head of Engineering Programmes and Procedures, comments: "CS Project Lite was chosen for its ease of use and ability to handle both the short-term detailed programmes and the overall framework programme, acting as a tool to assist in the control of capital and revenue budgets. Access by all staff to CS Project will improve efficiency and assist in the overall co-ordination of all our activities on the highway network."
