Construction giant HOCHTIEF has selected BuildOnline, provider of on-demand document management and collaboration software, as one of its preferred partners. The contract is part of HOCHTIEF's strategy to use innovation for competitive advantage.
HOCHTIEF selected BuildOnline's on-demand model, because of the huge advantages it brought in boosting collaboration across the whole supply chain rather than being confined within the corporate fortress. This approach delivers a more predictable total cost of ownership and can be rolled out quicker due to the ease-of-use of the system.
"We consider using BuildOnline's on-demand technology as an important element of our innovation strategy which will consequently strengthen our technological leadership as an international construction service provider. We also put a strong emphasis on finding a strong partner, who would support our strategic development in the long term," said Dr. Bürklin, Head of Strategic Corporate Development at HOCHTIEF Aktiengesellschaft.
"HOCHTIEF is a widely recognised market leader within the construction industry and its choice of BuildOnline is further proof of the benefits of the on-demand business model, pioneered by BuildOnline," said Mark Suster, CEO of BuildOnline. "Studies predict that 30% of software sales will follow this model by 2010 and we are at the forefront of that shift."
"Using BuildOnline provides our project managers with an innovative tool to collaborate with their clients and partners. The ease-of-use of BuildOnline's allows us to rapidly introduce the tool and therefore results in a very high level of security for our investment," said Dirk Schaper, Head of ViCon (Virtual Design and Construction) Competence Centre of HOCHTIEF Aktiengesellschaft.
