Sanderson, the publicly owned UK supplier of software solutions and services has won a contract to supply its Wholesale Distribution solution, Swords, to Eastenders Cash & Carry plc at their two new cash & carry's.
Eastenders Cash & Carry primarily sell beer, wine, spirits and tobacco to retailers. Currently based in Leyton, East London, Eastenders recently acquired new premises in Slough and Birmingham for which a comprehensive IT system was needed. Having operated the Sanderson solution for a number of years in the Leyton branch, Eastenders' management team made the decision to further invest in the Swords solution based on the proven benefits that the software has delivered to date.
All three sites will use Radio Frequency (RF) technology at goods inwards to capture bar codes as stock enters the warehouse. This will reduce scanning errors at the tills and also ensure stock is effectively managed and controlled throughout the store. A fast-track till payment system, Queue Buster, designed to reduce queues at peak times, will also be implemented to utilise the RF technology. The system will cut waiting time and encourage customers to shop at otherwise busy periods, promoting improved customer service.
