Newly launched is CENTREMAPSlive which provides a way to purchase and receive usable geological mapping on-line that can be opened with a standard copy of the freely available Adobe PDF reader.
This development saves the user the complexity and software requirements of other Geological data formats suited to GIS (Geographical Information Systems) and the unprofessional task of scanning paper copies.
With CENTREMAPSlive the user not only has immediate access to professional mapping but can also benefit from the ability to instantly turn on and off layers such as 'Bedrock', 'Superficial Geology' and 'Faults', leaving as much or as little geological depth of information as required directly over latest mapping data.
The solution provides data from sources including the British Geological Survey and Ordnance Survey, and includes features such as instant free registration, account holder options and privileges or a pay-as-you-go facility in a format which is fast, convenient and easy to use. This then allows users to quickly select and download precisely the detail and information they need to fulfil their requirements with the minimum of fuss.
David Ovadia, Director for International and Strategic Development from the British Geological Survey has witnessed the progress of this system and is very impressed with the solution: "The development of CENTREMAPSlive is very exciting," he says. "CENTREMAPS has found a way to deliver mapping data using PDFs, which means that the end user does not need specialist software at his end. This is a real breakthrough," David adds. "By negating the need for specialist software, this system has made the delivery of map data more open and accessible."
As recognised leaders in UK mapping for 30 years and as Licensed Partners and Distributors to Ordnance Survey, the launch of this key new product comes following many months of development and years of learning. Director Mark Walker explains: "CENTREMAPSlive has been created as a result of market demand. The breadth of this product in terms of the information it contains is huge and is geared around our proven expertise as land surveyors and map makers," he said.
