Exchequer adds another dimension to data retrieval with its new Visual Report Writer
The new Visual Report Writer in Exchequer, IRIS Enterprise Software's multi-award winning flagship accounting system, introduces an important and additional dimension to data management and retrieval.
Developed in-house by the award winning team, the report writer makes it possible for users to 'drill down' into each transaction and obtain a multi-dimensional view of how the figure was arrived at. This is already proving to be an invaluable management tool for many of the 15,000 companies using the system.
Extensive research carried out by the company showed that third party report writers were limited in their functionality and could only produce a two dimensional view of the data held by the system. They are also slower because of their need to access an interpreting database before the report can be written. The only way to provide fast access to all the management data users increasingly need, was to develop it internally.
"One of the key advantages of developing the report writer in-house was the ability to build in multiple output options which are both innovative and sensible", Product Director, Rob Steele commented.
With so many users now requiring remote access to the data held within their systems, the development team considered it a priority to realise connectivity between the new visual report writer and the Sentimail(R) system, which integrates intelligent messaging via e-mail and SMS alerts. This innovative approach ensures that those working away from the office have access to any report on demand via a pda or a laptop."
Rob continued: "Remote working can galvanise business. The deep levels of functionality within the new Visual Report Writer will transform traditional thinking and provide a truly powerful management tool, at its most innovative."
