Sage launches Sage 1000 for mid-market

Sage 1000 combines CRM and ERP to provide single view of customers and suppliers

Sage (UK) Limited announced the launch of Sage 1000 available for mid-market companies,  combining CRM, ERP, reporting, workflow, web access and self-service. The solution has been developed to meet demand from businesses for a single business management software product rather than separate, integrated systems. It offers a simplified, resilient solution which is easy to use and install, and accurately maps to complex business processes across a company.

Sage 1000 will be sold through the nationwide network of Sage business partners, and is aimed at companies turning over £10m+. It
enables companies to optimise their resources, by automating processes and removing barriers between departments. In practical terms it will make it easier to sell to customers by allowing salespeople immediate access to customer history, along with stock, sales and credit history.

Through its company-wide installation, Sage 1000 will also help reduce training costs and errors in the re-keying and capture of data.. This will lead to overall cost reduction, improved customer service, and allow the Sage 1000 user to concentrate fully on business critical tasks.

The new product is built on proven Sage technology, combining business logic from Sage Line 500 and Sage CRM MME already used in UK businesses. Sage 1000 includes a self service module, which allows customers easy and secure access to information, such as the status of their orders. The underlying architecture of Sage 1000 will also enable rapid development of dashboards and other types of reporting as well as support for workflow management.

Commenting on the deployment of Sage 1000, Philip Palser, Operations Director at Scientific & Chemicals Supplies, concludes: "Sage 1000 is a product based on proven and highly intuitive technology, which for us was a key requirement to ensure as smooth and interruption free an upgrade as possible with little downtime. The software will provide both individual departmental functions and the business access to previously unavailable critical data, while reducing our total cost of ownership."

David Pinches, director of ERP at Sage UK Ltd, comments: "Since we announced our intention to launch Sage 1000 in February, we have seen huge interest from both business partners and customers alike. Businesses are beginning to realise that the sharing of customer and supplier data between departments is critical in gaining competitive advantage." Pinches continues: "To date, ten of our largest business partners are currently progressing through our accreditation process. We have already signed a number of customers based on our pre-release version, whilst existing customers will be able to migrate supported by our trade-in options. We're organizing 20 events around the country to explain our strategy face-to-face with our customers."

Sage 1000 is offered alongside existing Sage products and offers an alternative approach to the business management software available to customers. Roadmaps for many of Sage's mid-market products will feed into the development of Sage 1000 and give further opportunity to Sage's network of 800 developers to integrate third party products.
