The rugged 7530 hand-held computer now delivers RFID compatibility for the cold storage market
Psion Teklogix, a global provider of solutions for mobile computing, wireless data collection, imaging and RFID, has unveiled its 7530 UHF RFID compatible hand-held computer. This is the first product of its kind to be RFID enabled and durable enough for the frozen storage space.
The Windows CE .NET-based device combines the rugged features of Psion Teklogix 7530 with the Psion Teklogix RD7950 UHF RFID Reader, an EPC - GEN2 compliant 900MHz RFID reader. The result is a powerful RFID enabled hand-held computer capable of displaying client/server, Web and enterprise resources, while operating in the most intense and cold environments.
The extreme toughness, flexibility, integration capabilities and ergonomics make the 7530 RFID compatible hand-held computer an ideal mobile computing device for freezers, ports and container yards, and wide-area mobile computing applications.
The 7530 RFID compatible hand-held computer boasts ratings of IP 67 and operates in condensing environments between 5-96% Relative Humidity. While most devices fail when placed in freezing and condensing environments, the 7530 RFID compatible hand-held computer can operate at temperatures as low as -30 C (-22 F) and withstand multiple drops to concrete from 6.5' (2m).
"We are pleased to provide our customers with RFID capabilities in one of our flagship products - the 7530," said Ron Caines, vice president of marketing, Psion Teklogix Inc. "The 7530 RFID compatible hand-held computer offers the best of both worlds to our cold chain customers with RFID needs."
