Sub-contractor Highways Surfacing has chosen RedSky IT's Summit software solution in a bid to continue its rapid growth over the next two years and pitch itself as a main competitor to big name contractors
The company, which was founded in 1995, has diversified from road and footpath repair for local authority clients to more recently taking on full engineering repair works for gas and water utility companies. As a result it has seen its turnover double to over £30 million in the last 18 months, and plans to increase this to £50 million in the same period of time.
However, it says in order to achieve this it needs an all-encompassing software package to streamline the whole business - particularly to track how the business is performing commercially.
John Newton, Managing Director, said: "The company has grown rapidly and we are keen and ready to make the leap to become a main contractor and compete in the market. However, we have a mismatch of IT systems that are time consuming and make it very difficult to keep track financially of how contracts are progressing. With Summit we will have an integrated system, which will allow live access for all those involved in a contract no matter where they are located and it will mean we are right up to date with costings, purchasing, invoicing etc."
