Transport technology innovators Secureseal and ASL Holdings Ltd (ASLH) have teamed up to bring a new range of fleet management solutions to the UK market
The development partnership brings together Secureseal's expertise in security seals and RFID location technology with ASLH's long experience in telemetry and wireless data communications. Development plans involve a series of solutions that combine trailer and in-cab data collection.
Northampton-based ASL Holdings Ltd is a market leader in wireless and wired telemetry and datacomms technology. Secureseal are based in Enfield and are the leading manufacturer of security trailer reusable door seals and the company has pioneered low power RFID systems for trailer temperature and location management.
"Secureseal offers a range of complimentary technologies by integrating these with ASLH's advanced data communication technology, some very exciting products will be coming to market soon" says Bill Berry, Managing Director of ASLH. "We see the logistics sector as a big growth area for us over the next few years and Secureseal's security seals are already a common sight on many distribution fleets. That gives both parties an ideal platform to bring new technology to market."
ASLH products include wireless communication CANbus dataloggers allowing collection of data from vehicle sensors and connection to tachographs and in-cab terminals. Secureseal's systems meanwhile provide live data via RFID that includes trailer ID, security seal status and chilled compartment temperature. Combining the respective technologies will provide a complete vehicle and trailer management capability for the first time.
"ASLH was recommended by an important mutual customer and that has led to integration developments now being tried and tested in the field. ASLH's acclaimed dataloggers and communications technology are a perfect fit for Secureseal allowing live transmission of trailer-related data. These developments will give UK transport operators an opportunity to achieve new levels of efficiency and productivity" comments Ben Grant, Managing Director of Secureseal.
