Celenia builds bridge between Microsoft NAV and Dynamics CRM
By connecting two of the world's leading business systems-Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision) and Microsoft Dynamics CRM, the Celenia CRM Connector will enable over 10,000 companies globally to combine their sales, marketing and economic activities in one system. The Celenia CRM Connector will be offered to every Microsoft Dynamics partner around the world.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV and CRM represent two of the world's most used ERP and CRM systems. Until now, however, there has been no connection between the two. This has meant that, for example, customer data, product lists and order tracking have been administered separately in each of the two Microsoft systems. By building a bridge between these two systems, companies are able to not only save resources but also achieve an important synchronizing effect.
"In a time when the market is developing extremely quickly, it is essential that companies can take advantage of the knowledge and data that their systems contain under optimal conditions. That is exactly what we are doing with this CRM Connector: We are helping sales and marketing people with accessing economic and background data-and we are helping finance and production people with tracking sales and order input. With the help of the Celenia CRM Connector, we are turning Microsoft Dynamics CRM and NAV into an effective and productive unified system for companies," says Sales Director Karina Nielsen, Celenia Software in Aalborg, Denmark.
A Microsoft Assignment
The Celenia CRM Connector was originally developed and owned by the international consulting firm Tectura but has now been acquired by Celenia for distribution throughout Celenia's global partner network.
"We have had a good and valuable collaborative relationship with Microsoft and Celenia during the development of this CRM Connector for Navision. We, personally, have used the product- and will continue to do so in a number of customer cases. However, since Microsoft wants to develop is own connector for future versions of Microsoft Dynamics CRM and NAV, we no longer feel that our job is to build on and develop a partner channel for this product. Celenia already has the needed partner channel, so it is fine with us that Celenia takes over the distribution to other partners," says Nordic Business Development Executive Steen Fabricius Dahl, Tectura.
The Celenia CRM Connector is compatible with all the newer versions of Microsoft NAV and CRM and, consequently, will be attractive to all those companies which already use a Microsoft Dynamics NAV solution and would like a CRM system.
Microsoft originally requested a connector between NAV and CRM despite planning to launch its own integration connection between the systems. The Microsoft launch, however, will not take place until the end of 2007-and will only be available for new versions of Microsoft Dynamics NAV and CRM
The Celenia CRM Connector contains:
Synchronized data: All entered data, such as address fields and other customer information, are synchronized directly in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
Unified product list: Products and units from Microsoft Dynamics NAV are visible directly in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
Order creation: It is possible to register order and sales in both systems since Microsoft Dynamics CRM collects information for products, units, etc. from Navision.
Overview: With the Celenia CRM Connector, it becomes possible, for example, to take in and register orders in CRM and complete them in NAV. The Celenia CRM Connector ensures that the order is carried out all the way through the system-from first being entered in Microsoft Dynamics CRM to invoicing in NAV.
Offline use: Microsoft Dynamics CRM can be used both offline and via the internet, making it the perfect tool for sales people and others who work away from the office. As soon as online access is re-established, all data are synchronized with NAV.
