Asta Powerproject now provides complete data interchange with all versions of Primavera
Anyone who needs to provide clients or contractors with project files in Primavera format no longer needs to use Primavera software to do so. Planners can continue to use Asta Powerproject, the UK's no.1 project management software for UK construction, and simply save the files into the required Primavera file format.
The latest version of Asta Powerproject (version 9.0.02) released in February 2007 provides full data interchange with Primavera P3 (version 3.1). This is in addition to full data interchange with Primavera P3e (versions 4.1 and 5.0) which was made available from Asta Powerproject version 9.0.01. The upgrade is free of charge for all supported Asta Powerproject users.
Development of Primavera's P3 (version 3.1) software has been discontinued as P3's 16-bit technology is quickly becoming outdated. Construction companies using P3 will need to decide whether or not to upgrade to P5 as technical support for P3, in the longer term, is not guaranteed. Now their choice is wider. They can switch their Primavera licences to Asta Powerproject licences and still provide any clients or contractors with project files in Primavera format, should this be required. Likewise, they will be able to open Primavera files, view and edit them in Asta Powerproject.
With Asta Powerproject as the preferred project management software for most of the construction industry, and with the price of a standalone Asta Powerproject software licence 35% less than Primavera and training at approximately half the cost of Primavera's, Asta Powerproject represents best value and is the logical choice for all construction companies.
