VisionWare, the Scottish-headquartered software company, is to open its first office in the US to service its growing North American customer base and target new business opportunities

A provider of award-wining data integration and management solutions, VisionWare will establish a presence in Boston after securing major contracts with the state governments of Wyoming and Alaska and the Ohio-based Aultman Hospitals Group.

VisionWare has also established close ties with Microsoft and has been accredited as a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner.  Microsoft endorses VisionWare and its MultiVue Identification Server as a Microsoft Global Priority Solution for the Public Sector (IPSS).

VisionWare is now working with Microsoft to deliver 'go-to-market' programs to support customers within the private and public sectors across the UK, Ireland, North America, South Africa and Australia.

The American expansion is being spearheaded by Peter Clark, VisionWare's partner and alliances manager, who intends to quickly establish a significant presence in the US, recruiting a range of sales and support staff.

Mr Clark said: "We have secured several major pieces of business in the US inspite of not having opened our offices there yet and we believe that a presence in the States will drive further wins. 

"VisionWare is already a highly-successful company in the UK, and especially so in the pubic sector. Our domestic success has brought us to the attention of Microsoft, and our relationship with such a strong global brand has already opened doors for us in America.

"We are extremely confident that we can replicate the success we have achieved in the UK in the North American market." An experienced member of VisionWare management team, Mr Clark has extensive experience of the US, having been instrumental in forming the company's close bonds with Microsoft and in winning its existing US-based clients.

As well as a geographical expansion, the move is also designed to open up new sectors to the company in the US, with industry analysts having already identified a need for products like MultiVue in a wide range of fields, from retail and utilities to finance and telecoms.

Currently operating from offices in Glasgow and London, VisionWare was founded in 1993 and has grown to become a leading provider of Customer Data Integration (CDI) and Master Data Management (MDM) solutions.

Particularly active in the UK public sector, VisionWare's solutions are employed by local authorities, NHS trusts and police forces across Scotland and England.
