The launch of a new logo is set to change the way we use the internet
From this summer any website stamped with the Internet Trust logo will be deemed trustworthy and secure for all its users. The trustmark logos are to be awarded by Internet Trust: a company of internet professionals with extensive experience in web assurance.
Ted Nevin, Marketing Manager at Internet Trust said: “We provide invaluable accreditation for websites in the form of click-to-verify logos which are displayed on vetted sites. Independent research shows that third-party approval increases website conversions and, of course, internet users benefit from a secure service that they will use again and again.”
Qualification for the scheme follows a straightforward audit which considers identity, security of transaction, content, ease of contact, privacy and trading terms.
Ted adds: “The six factors we certify are the things internet users are most concerned about. There are a number of existing trustmarks which specialise in one aspect – for example data encryption or privacy – but Internet Trust offer a seal of approval that covers all of the key concerns for internet users”.
During the launch period Internet Trust is offering a free website check-up to businesses wanting to see how they measure up in terms of legal compliance and best practice.
They will report back with honest, qualified advice - as well as providing free legal document templates such as terms and conditions statements and privacy policy documents.
From August 2007 Internet Trust logos will appear on websites and offer unequalled assurance for online business and their customers.
