Flair Leisure selects Freeway Commerce for EDI to key high street retailers

UK distributor of toy brands uses Freeway’s EDI system to enable electronic trading with major high street toy stockists

Flair Leisure, the UK toy distributor of heritage brands, has upgraded to Spectrum Enterprise, from Freeway Commerce, specialists in EDI and electronic trading systems. Flair Leisure supplies many established toy brands, including Sylvanian Families, Plasticine and Sticklebricks to well known high street retailers including John Lewis, Argos and Boots. The company is using Freeway’s system to electronically exchange purchase orders and invoices with customers. Since implementing the new system, Flair Leisure claims faster processing of orders and reduced errors.

Freeway was selected by Flair for its proven integration with many business accounting applications and its ability to deliver e-commerce solutions to business users cost-effectively. Many of Flair’s customers are adopting EDI and are also choosing web based solutions, where orders are placed via a secure web portal.

Having researched other products on the market, Flair chose Spectrum Enterprise both for its web based approach and that fact that it could be accessed on a network.

Claire Devereux, Business Systems Manager at Flair Leisure explained: “Flair Leisure has expanded dramatically over the years and increasingly we review our systems to support the business.  We have been trading electronically with Freeway’s system for a number of years, but wanted to upgrade our system to meet demand.

“After a market review, we felt that Freeway’s offering was still most suited to our customers and our own needs. Using Spectrum to trade electronically reduces errors and saves us an enormous amount of time and costs.”

According to Paul Kaye, Sales Director of Freeway Commerce: “Companies like Flair Leisure have built up their reputation in business by delivering efficiently on orders and providing smart administration to high street retailers that demand the most exacting service.

“EDI is an efficient way of exchanging information – it removes the need to re-key in orders and saves time by enabling invoices to be despatched much faster. Freeway Commerce has designed the Spectrum solution to enable the effective processing of key business messages , so that companies can provide a much more efficient service.”
