Office Workers are to be given their own virtual community with the launch of nationalofficeweek.com and its mission statement to "make office life gorgeous".
Nationalofficeweek.com provides a forum for office workers to earn points, network, upload photos, share information and experiences, as well as providing an office industry voice to lobby and campaign on key issues affecting all office workers.
Nationalofficeweek.com houses 7 key areas to inform, motivate, entertain and connect office workers including:
- Office News Express- the UK's favourite office newspaper has now made the site its permanent home;
- Community- a fully interactive area of forums, shoutbox discussion boards and photos;
- The Office Directory, listing key suppliers from corporate hospitality to vending;
- Lunchhour, including rolling news, entertainment, weather and travel feeds, on-line dictionary and thesaurus plus competitions, treats galore and wellbeing tips;
- The Stationery Cupboard, offering information and advice on the latest stationery products, complete with wish lists and ideal for office managers whose job it is to ensure their department or their company runs at the optimum level of efficiency for the best possible price.
The site will contain a fully rounded experience for users - from the light-hearted 'pokey view' competition to find the UK's worst office view (which will be made gorgeous) to a heavy-weight campaign to stop Britain putting the clock back every Autumn which aims to take a 100,000 signature petition to Downing Street.
Users of the site will be able to collect points for everything from registering to filling out surveys and entering competitions. Points will be redeemable against a host of sponsors office products, or can be donated to a charity of choice.
Debi Arnold, Campaign Director of National Office Week says: "We have never had Office Life so good, compared with the 1850s and the 1950s - our country has come a long way! It's time to celebrate that fact, and for those that still don't think it is, we hope to inspire and convert them thoughout the year! National Office Week will provide us with the catalyst to connect with office workers throughout the UK and the site will continue to provide them with a forum thereafter.
"A site dedicated to office workers - that talks to them as humans and not job titles, identifying common issues and helping businesses and their staff to enjoy a better work environment - is long overdue. Office life for many in the UK, is gorgeous, however we are fully aware that working life is far from ideal for many people across the world, and we look forward to working with agencies who campaign to make change."
