Vocollect, a global voice-directed distribution systems provider, announced in February that the company achieved record sales in 2002, more than doubling its revenues over the previous year, and installing more Talkman terminals than in any other year in the company's 16-year history. Revenues reached well over $25 million, driving Vocollect's compound annual growth rate to more than 60% over the last three years.
The trend is continuing, with 2003 already off to a fast start, noted Greg Tanner, Managing Director of Vocollect Europe. "As companies operate on thinner margins and in a tighter economy, they continually look for cost reductions, and that's what we deliver. Talkman system sales are growing worldwide - Europe in particular offers outstanding potential for rapid growth. We expect sales in the region to more than triple this year due to increasing awareness and acceptance of voice technology."
Vocollect's Talkman system enables employees to communicate with warehouse management systems via a wireless, belt-worn terminal. Hands-free, eyes-free operation increases picking accuracy, boosts productivity and improves the bottom line. Talkman systems are currently being used in warehouses and distribution centres in 14 countries around the world.
