BuildOnline, supplier of collaboration software, has been selected by Aquadia, the trading and information marketplace for all buyers, suppliers, contractors and other professionals in the £130bn global water industry. BuildOnline is to provide its flagship product, ProjectsOnline, as an online platform to centrally manage documents and communications, associated with projects and asset management for global water companies.
Aquadia has been established to benefit any company working within the water industry. It is backed by Thames Water and Ondeo, two of the worlds leading companies in water related services, with combined revenues of £9bn.
BuildOnline was selected as Aquadia's collaboration partner after an extensive global review because of its strength in the infrastructure sector. Aquadia's customers have already started rolling out ProjectsOnline with Thames Water using the tool for infrastructure and development projects in the UK as well as for international bids. Examples include a £10m redevelopment in High Wycombe and a £20 million upgrade to Little Marlow Sewage Treatment Works. ProjectsOnline is managing collaboration between Thames Water and its chosen project delivery consortium to drive through efficiencies in the design and construction process.
"Aquadia's integrated service offering will enable Thames Water to build on our existing eProcurement capability and will substantially improve supply chain efficiency", said Nick Sumption, Procurement Director at Thames. www.buildonline.co.uk
