Infant goods manufacturer, Cannon Avent, has selected Syspro's advanced warehouse management system, featuring the latest radio frequency identification technology, to direct activities at the company's new £3 million warehouse facility, which has been built alongside a 24 hour/ triple shift manufacturing plant in Glemsford, Suffolk.
The fully integrated WMS application will go live this month and is expected to help the rapidly expanding Avent products division to cut costs and speed up the flow of fast moving consumer goods through the supply chain.
The new system, which is to be installed by K3, will provide full directed picking and put away control and optimize the storage of finished products, such as Avent baby feeding bottles and Avent ISIS breast pumps, now used by mothers in over 60 countries.
Warehouse operators will be able to make full use of the latest WMS mobile tracking and picking technologies to control the entire order fulfilment process. The system will also provide real-time critical event information such as consumption of materials, completion of goods, bin replenishment and fulfilment and work in progress station status to give better management visibility.
