Black & Veatch Contracting Ltd (formerly Paterson Candy Ltd) have selected Workspace from Nottingham-based Union Square to support their strategic move towards a fully collaborative working environment for their workforce of 350 people.
BVCL is a recognised world leader in water and wastewater treatment process engineering and contract management for the municipal and industrial sectors, and is engaged in the design and construction of water and wastewater projects worldwide.
BVCL's Engineering Director, Martin Dingley, explains why this is such an important decision for the company: "Our business spans four continents and we've been considering how best to support our people for some time. The critical information that they need does exist somewhere in our organization but, like most businesses, we have faced a major challenge connecting them to it in a simple and reliable way. It's clear that the emergence of Enterprise Portals will change the way people work, by releasing the corporate knowledge base to them when they want it, where ever they may be. We wanted to take early advantage of this." www.union2.co.uk
