Captiva Software Corporation has announced that electrical products manufacturer, Schneider Electric, has implemented InputAccel, Captiva's premier document capture solution, as part of a company initiative to cut costs and streamline its invoice and document workflow process.
InputAccel delivers images of Schneider's invoices, which are scanned at a central location and delivered to company management at numerous remote sites, allowing for immediate approval of payment. The central finance system is updated through a direct link from InputAccel to the company's SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
"We needed to find an efficient way to capture and deliver crucial information to the appropriate managers for prompt approval and payment," said Karen Harris, Schneider UK's MIS Business Systems Manager.
Schneider is now identifying additional applications for InputAccel, such as capturing employee records for its HR department and a quotation system that allows engineers and sales managers to share a single electronic version of requests for proposals (RFPs) and tender documents.
"Companies desiring to cut costs often find that while it's easy to centralize the management function, the larger challenge exists in managing the many operational elements. InputAccel resolves this dilemma by allowing a single point of control to be imposed on operational processes that are geographically dispersed," said Mark Lewis, Captiva's Vice President of European Operations.
