Geac has announced that Glen Dimplex, an Ireland based manufacturer of electric heating and domestic appliances, has signed a significant contract with them for three years .
Under the agreement, Geac, working with its automated data capture partner Indigo Software, will supply a fully automated warehouse management solution for Glen Dimplex's new facility in the UK. In addition, Glen Dimplex has extended its existing maintenance agreement with Geac for an additional three years and has elected to be an early adopter of Geac System21Aurora, Geac's next generation enterprise resource planning (ERP) system with real-time business process management (BPM) capabilities.
Mark Kirk, Head of IT for Glen Dimplex Group, commented: "We have been working with Geac successfully for a number of years and are very excited about the benefits these new projects will bring to our business. The warehouse management solution in the UK will not only provide us with a fully automated system but will give us a real-time view of stock movement in the facility. In just a few months since the launch of Geac System21 Aurora in April of 2003, the division has a dozen committed projects underway with customers for its new enterprise resource planning and real-time process management system. The customers represent both small and medium-sized enterprizes and are based in countries around the world, including projects in Europe, the U.S. and Australia. They include Italian sunglasses designer, Fabris Lane; traditional English confectionery manufacturer, AL Simpkin; power protection systems-provider, Chloride and organic food producer, Applegate Farms.
