Perfect Bore Ltd, a manufacturer of boring equipment including cylinder liners and pistons for the motor sport industry, has placed an order valued at £10,000 for business and accounting software from Exchequer Software, an award-winning developer of business and accounting software for growing enterprises. Exchequer Enterprise will provide the company with a fully integrated back office system which eliminates manual data entry and the re-keying of information between disparate applications, whilst significantly decreasing reporting timescales.
In addition to the standard reports built into Exchequer Enterprise, Perfect Bore is making use of the in-built Microsoft OLE technology which delivers unique drill-down capabilities within Microsoft Excel. This enables the company to produce management reports quickly and easily, all within a user-friendly, familiar software environment.
The versatility of the Exchequer Enterprise's report writer module will offer significant benefits to Perfect Bore, by providing a seamless link between Microsoft Excel and the financial management data held within Exchequer Enterprise. This will enable Perfect Bore to exchange information with ease from one database to another, removing the need for time consuming manual intervention and its potential for operator errors.
Exchequer Enterprise is being integrated with Perfect Bore's Job Shop Enterprise Resource Planning software, which means the company will now have a fully integrated IT platform for all of its business activities including manufacturing, stock management and financial accounting.
Jason Wyles, Finance Manager at Perfect Bore says: "Exchequer Enterprise's report writing functionality now enables us to close month end within a single day, whereas previously this used to take two days. Exchequer Enterprise frees up 20% of the finance department's time by eliminating manual administration processes, and this enables finance staff to be re-deployed on to more business-critical tasks, such as budgeting, forecasting and cost analysis.
The implementation of Exchequer Enterprise also enables appropriately authorised non-finance staff to access management reporting information at any given time, without needing accounting or IT knowledge in order to review and interrogate reports within the system."
Wyles explains: "Previously if a Sales Manager had wanted to view the number of sales their department had completed in any given period they would have to ask a member of the finance team to generate a report for them. However, by using Exchequer Enterprise's OLE functionality anyone within the company can now access and analyse up-to-date financial information within Microsoft Excel. All of this encourages user understanding and acceptance of the system and supports faster decision-making."
Exchequer Software won the Accountancy Age Award for Best Mid-Range Accounting Software for three consecutive years. It is also the current holder of BASDA's Best Mid-Range Accounting Product and it has been accredited by the ICAEW as part of its IT Products Accreditation Scheme. In Real Finance magazine's FD satisfaction survey 2003, Exchequer beat all other leading financial software vendors in terms of software quality and support and was described as being 'head and shoulders above the rest'.
