Walsall-based CH Jones Ltd, who provide fuel management services to fleet operators in the UK and abroad, has recently completed an upgrade to their online service, EFUELS, which has further improved customer service, empowered their dealers and reduced the company's overheads. The upgrade has centred around allowing on-line management of their new OASIS Smart fuel card which will reduce fuel fraud and improve customer control of fuel.
CH Jones originally worked with international software developers, LANSA to create EFUELS in just 9 weeks. Alex Harper, Service Delivery Manager for CH Jones explains how EFUELS works: "EFUELS allows customers to check their stock levels, look at transactions, monitor fuel usage and identify irregularities. We used to get a lot of requests to re-print weekly reports which created a big overhead in staff time, paper usage and postage. Now EFUELS has solved all this." He continues: "In addition, customers can update their details online, reducing errors through data entry. Now up to 90% of amendments are performed online by the dealers themselves."
The Smart Card Facility has also been a great success - with around 200,000 card users across the UK. Since fraudulent use of fuel can be a big problem within the industry, the smart card is non clonable and can be programmed with fuel restrictions that change according to the customers' needs. The Smart Card links back to the EFUEL site so that customers can change rules themselves, again reducing CH Jones' overheads.
