Birmingham-based ATMS has launched HostedHub, a new system with RF-ID capability to help its customers link electronically with trading partners around the world.
The HostedHub service is unique in that ATMS takes total care of everything, from initial agreement of tag standards and messaging standards, through to round the clock support and maintenance.
HostedHub provides full traceability, an important feature for companies wishing to comply with the latest EC legislation, and supports the generation and tracking of RF-ID tags, including smart labels and passive tags. Full support is provided for the up and coming EPC standards for RF-ID.
The modular-based system incorporates a Web-based track and trace function, as well as traditional EDI and XML messaging. The up and coming AS/2 communications standard is also supported. ATMS's certified SAP interface is available to link directly to existing SAP systems.
Another interesting module is that for Duty Management - the combination of electronic tags and electronic Customs documentation is seen by many as the ultimate solution to eliminating expensive and potentially inaccurate paperwork and clerical tasks, whilst allowing the user to defer payment of tax to the last possible minute.
Further modules are available to link to parcel carriers, transport companies, transport management systems, in-vehicle and in-cab systems.
Said ATMS Managing Director, Stephen Cross: "This is the first service package available that provides so many different service modules and also offers RF-ID support. Companies will be able to access modules as and when they require them, keeping costs to a minimum and allowing customers to optimise resources."
