BIM in the Republic of Ireland, CIAT up-date

CIAT Members in the Republic of Ireland are reminded of some recent developments in BIM legislation that they should be aware of.

1. Government Strategy For Digitalisation: In November 2017 it was announced that Building Information Modelling (BIM) will be required in the design, construction and operation of public buildings and infrastructure over the next four years.

2. Roadmap to Digital Transition: The National BIM Council has published its Roadmap to Digital Transition.

3. NSAI and BIM standards: The National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) have established a Technical Mirror Committee, to monitor the development of ‘standards’ internationally and within Europe.
