T and G Timber selects MAM’s “user friendly” Trader Online to manage its business operations

MAM Software is delighted to announce that T & G Timber, a new timber merchant based in the Earlsfield area of London, has selected Trader Online to manage its business operations. The company, which opened its doors in August, supplies timber, sheet materials, ironmongery and mouldings to both trade and retail customers.

Having owned a timber merchant a number of years previously, T & G Timber director James Guidera knew the company needed a solution that was intuitive and easy to learn, yet powerful and flexible enough to grow with the business. On the recommendation of colleagues at Frasers Timber Merchants in Brentford, James contacted MAM Software to enquire about Trader.

“Ben Whitehouse came to give us a demo. Coming from a similar background he really understood our needs and what we would require from the software,” explained James.

“We were surprised by Trader – it looked really nice, very clear and uncluttered. Importantly to us, it was very user friendly. We wanted a system our staff could pick up quickly and use straight away without the need for endless training sessions. We’re confident we’ve found this in Trader.”

Trader is versatile business-management software designed specifically for merchants and retailer businesses of all different sizes. The feature-rich software seamlessly integrates sales, stock management, accounting and reporting processes into one easy-to-use package.

“One of the features that caught our eye was the search functionality,” continued James. “If you search for a word or phrase, Trader also brings up ‘known as’ results. This means if someone uses terminology that’s different to ours, we can easily find what it is they are looking for.”

T & G Timber has opted to use the flexible cloud-hosted variant of Trader. Operating from a state-of-the-art data centre, the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) approach gives the same functionality as traditional on-premise software, without the cost and time investments of overseeing server infrastructure.

The lower up-front costs and the security of a fully-managed service were key factors in choosing cloud hosting, as James explained: “The cloud option keeps costs down for us, as there’s no need for expensive server hardware or for people to manage it. It doesn’t matter if you forget to back-up or upgrade as it’s all done for you. It gives you piece of mind.”

“We are delighted that T & G Timber has chosen Trader Online as its business management system,” said Ben Whitehouse, senior sales manager at MAM Software. “We are confident that Trader’s intuitive operation will help James and his team achieve their short-term goals, and its extensive functionality will be the foundations for their success in the future.”
